AD ASTRA
Ad Astra was commissioned by Stavanger Brass Band and first performed at the band’s 30th Anniversary Concert in St. Petri Church, Stavanger, on 22 April 2012.
The Latin title means “to the stars”. The work is dedicated to all past, present and future players and supporters of Stavanger Brass Band.
In September 2026, I adapted Ad Astra for concert band, bringing its powerful harmonies into a colourful new instrumental setting.
Diligentia ego mihi in astra mereri
“Through diligence and dedication, I will earn my place among the stars.”
